WEDNESDAY UPDATE ON GANGAA - EPISODE 489--490 ON ADOM TV
Ganga wakes up in the morning, and finds a new dress on the side table. She walks out of her room in veil and looks around. Thumki comes from behind to wish her good morning, Ganga replies. Thumki taunts this is her used saree that Ganga is wearing, and suits her. She demands to see Ganga’s face, but Ganga denies as Dai Maa has forbidden to remove her veil. Thumki says that restriction is for elders and male, but she is younger by relation. She forces the veil away, Ganga strictly says she shouldn’t have done this. Thumki asks why Ganga is so egoistic, after all Ganga came in this house after her. Thumki taunts she brought 3 tola gold with her, and Ganga could not even get her own clothes. Kushal comes to send Thumki away for some work, and introduces himself as Ria’s (Shiv’s sister) husband. He
tells her to share if she needs something. Ganga moves towards her room, Shiv brings the doctor to check Ganga. The doctor shuts the door while Shiv awaits outside the room. The doctor says its amenesia, temporary memory loss; maybe she recalls in a few days, months or may be years. She is suggesting a few medicines, which will give them a clue about her future treatment plan. Shiv comes to Ganga and requests her not to tell anyone about memory loss, as his family is already upset because of his father’s death. He leaves a bag which her uncle had loaded in the car, may be it contains a few of her valuables.
Ganga looks at the clothes in the suitcase which were not hers. She wonders why these clothes are not her measurements if they are hers. A photo wrapped in the clothes fall off. Dai Maa brings a new saree for Ganga as she has to attend Lok Sabha. Ganga shares with Dai Maa that she is really clueless, these clothes brought with her are not her measurements. She wonders when her memory would return. Dai Maa says she must pave her own way just like her name accepting her present, and not to look back at the past. Ganga agrees.
Later, Ganga gets ready in the room and wears the mangal sooter. Then covers her face with a veil. Outside in the hall, people share their mourning with Thumki. Shiv objects with Thumpki’s over makeup, but she was stubborn. Pratab argues with the Pandit that there was no Pagri written in the list. Shiv comes to solve the matter, and sends Shiv to get 10-12 dhotis for Pagri ritual. Pandit considers only Shiv as worth holding family’s responsibilities. Savitri asks Ria about Aashi. They watch Aashi come with white flowers that she places in front of the photo. Pandit tells Shiv to light a flame along with his wife. Dai Maa goes to bring Ganga. Radhika was enraged watching Ganga come inside. Savitri watches Ganga’s face in the shadow of water and asks if Ganga didn’t put sindoor. Ganga replies she forgot. Savitri sends Ria to bring the sindoor, and asks Shiv to put it over her head partition; but without looking at her. Ganga gets a vague flash of sindoor ritual with Sagar, her head bangs and she almost lost her balance while Shiv holds him. Savitri sends her inside. Thumki comes to say to Radhika that her new mother only wants to snatch everything from her since first day. In the room, Dai Maa tells Ganga to take rest, as she hasn’t eaten anything since morning. Ria and Aashi come to the room and assures Ganga they are good sister in laws. Ria introduces herself, Aashi and Shiv to Ganga. Ria tells her about the dresses Savitri sent for Grahpravesh; Ganga nods as they all leave.

PRECAP: Ganga finds Parvati’s painting over the wall and exclaims it to be beautiful, Dai Maa agrees that Parvati was really beautiful. In the room, Ganga was about to hold a vase when Shiv comes and forbids her even touch anything here.
Everyone was excited as Dai Maa brings Ganga. People gossip they took their first daughter in law in arms. Savitri strictly warns them not to be late again. Ganga comes to sit beside Shiv, her foot touches with Shiv’s who reacts at once. Savitri announces to begin the Pooja. There was Gath Bandhan, Thumpki whispers something in Radhika’s ears. The couple stand up. Savitri notices Shiv was upset, and tells him to unveil the bride as per ritual. He thinks about Parvati. Savitri again takes his attention, as he removes the veil off Ganga’s face. Ria was happy and notices Kushaal staring towards Ganga. Thumki was left open eyes, Aashi thinks Ganga is really pretty. Shiv removes her earring off his pants, and returns it to her. He says these are his family jewellry, she must take care of them. Shiv hurries
them for Grahpravesh. Ria does their aarti and tells Ganga to push the kalash before entering. Thumki places the color pot for finger prints, she points towards Parvati’s foot prints saying no one can take Parvati’s place. Ganga looks towards Dai Maa for a while, then makes another mark, and replies Thumki she isn’t here to take someone’s place. She is Ganga and can find her own way. Ria and Aashi were impressed, Dai Maa happy while Savitri and Thumki were shocked. Ganga walks inside into her room. Kushaal was happy they will have good confrontations. Savitri sends Dai Maa to show Ganga her room. In the corridor, Dai Maa tells Ganga she shows Pavitri her room just like Ganga. Ganga says Dai Maa called her a daughter, she need not call her out of respect. Dai maa gets teary. Ganga notices someone stalking her, then goes ahead with Dai maa. The room was vast. Dai Maa says this is her room. Ganag looks towards Parvati’s picture and calls her pretty, Dai Maa agrees she was really beautiful and goes to get something for her to eat. Ganga looks around towards the intricate decoration and pottery and was about to touch them when Shiv enters. He forbids her and says its good she wants to make her place in the house, but she need not touch Parvati’s belongings. Everything must be as Parvati left, even him. Ganga agrees, and calls Parvati as pretty. Shiv says he sleeps outside, she can live comfortably in this room. He can’t sleep well in this room since Parvati has left. Ganga sits on the bed, blankly. She watches Radhika’s dress, as she stood outside and comes behind her. Radhika turns her face angrily, Ganga forwards her hand towards her and says a hello, introducing herself as Ganga. Radhika doesn’t reply and leaves. Ganga was worried.
At night, Savitri watches Aashi and says she knows well she couldn’t come over her father’s cremation. Thumki informs about Ganga’s arrival, Savitri says each daughter in law must reach before dinner. Dai Maa takes the blame over herself, and assures she would tell her about all the rules. Savitri insists she must abide by the rules if to stay in the house. Everyone leaves the table. Thumki says now after everyone had her meal, she will eat. Dai Maa apologizes Ganga for not informing. Ganga asks her about Shiv, as no one waited for her. Dai Maa qualifies Shiv returns a little late, as he is busy. Shiv enters the house then. Dai Maa says she would serve the food, he agrees. Dai Maa sends her behind Shiv to help him get fresh. Ganga comes towards Shiv. The pot of water drops off his hands towards Ganga, she bends before him and fill it with water in spite of his resistance. She pours water for him, then brings towel. He takes it after a little resistance and nods at her. Ganga wonders where life has taken her, if yes then why everyone feels strange.

PRECAP: Thumki tells Ganga to wait for Shiv and eat in his left over plate. Ganga says she won’t ever eat in anyone’s left over plate. Shiv assures Savitri he would never be able to give Ganga his wife’s status in life.
